Assuming leadership to provide direction and clarity in a state of uncertainty

The Sustainable Solutions Workshop was a 4-month-long project focused on reimagining the fines and fees system for the City of Chicago. There were 21 contributing designers, 6 advisors, and 6 clients. A few weeks into the initiative, the project began to flounder, and work stalled without clear leadership, so I organized and led the team across the finish line to deliver a future-focused, anti-racist report that challenged the city officials to better serve all their residents. My role included planning and facilitating weekly working sessions, matrixing the team according to their strengths,  clarifying deliverables, outlining project deadlines, and presenting the work to the client.
